Not A Lot

So around here there is really not a lot going on. Just general life, you know working, cooking cleaning hanging out with the kids.

Terrell has really gotten into the Harry Potter books and is on book 6 I believe. He read the last on in a single day. Definitely my child, when I have a good book it is hard for me to put it down too.

Jayden is also starting to get very independant about his reading. He has started reading Chapter books at school so last night Terrell brought down two of his old books to share. One was a Junie B. Jones book and the other was a Scooby Doo book. I hope he loves to read as much as Terrell and I.

Well that is it for now.

sick

I swear I did not fall off the face of the earth again! My house was hit with a sickness the like of have not been seen here in years. First Terrell got sick and better. Then I got it and was out of work for 2 days. Sucked it up for Terrell's birthday party and went back to work this week but still not 100%. Of course Jayden got it too and is just starting to feel better, Tony had a touch but he too is starting to recover.

I will be back to post about Terrell's party soon.

These are some of the things I am grateful for today.

2. It seems that winter is finally over in the Boston area

3. My new job, it is nice to work somewhere without all the stress

4. For the police in my city who quickly took care of the foreclosed property on my block that someone had broken into.

5. For Tony being home safely from his trip to visit his parents

6. For dinner being ready when I get home

7.For the walk I am going to take after dinner to exercise and enjoy the beautiful day

8. For FedEx finally bringing the box with the EKG machine that should have been here Friday.

9. For my neighbor who picked Jayden up from school all last week so I did not have to worry

Missing Daddy

Tony is away this week visiting his parents for his Dad's 70th birthday. It was a surprise and it was a big hit. Jayden is not dealing well with it though. He started crying last night after he talked to Tony. Kept saying I miss my daddy, come home. Broke my heart I tell you. He is truly a Daddy's boy. I am hoping I will do until Saturday night when Dad gets home!

Since getting Kindle a few years ago and my Ipad last year I have been reading more than ever. My goal is to read at least 50 books this year. So far I have read the following:

  2. The Final Arrangement by Annie Adams
  3. Five minutes late by Rich Amooi
  4. The big not so small curvy girls dating agency by Ava Catori
  5. Blood Legacy by C.J. Ellisson
  6. Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic (Dowser Series Book 1) by Meghan Ciana Doidge
  7. Trinkets, Treasures, and Other Bloody Magic (The Dowser Series) (Volume 2) by Meghan Ciana Doidge
  8. Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic (Dowser) (Volume 3) by Meghan Ciana Doidge
  9. Graveyard Shift by Angela Roquet
  10. The Parent Pact by Laurie Kellogg
  11. Let's Pretend this Never Happened by Jenny Lawson aka the Bloggess
  12. Fashionably Dead in Diapers by Robyn Peterman
  13. The Obituary Society by Jessica L. Randall
I am open to any suggestions you have for any good books. BTW most of these were free on Amazon when I got them. I encourage you to check out a author you might pass up otherwise. The freebies are good most are awesome and the few that are bad who cares? It didn't cost a thing. I recommend Book Bub for finding out the latests deals.

It's been a long time

It has been a really long time since I have posted. We have had quite a few changes in the 3 years since I posted last. I just got a new job with regular normal hours and weekends off. We have officially finished family building with a hysterectomy in 2013. My Dad passed away last year and my DH lost 2 of his very close friends about 2 months apart in 2014. Oh yeah and our house was hit by a freaking tornado in REVERE, MA!!!

It has been a crazy couple of years but we are all still happy and plugging along. Terrell with be 12 in a little under 2 weeks and Jayden is about 5 weeks from his 7th birthday. I am happy to say that he is finally sleeping in his own bed in his own room. For the love of god I never thought that child was going to leave my room and once he did he started sleeping with his brother. Ugh the agony!

Terrell is in middle school and doing fairly well, he was on honor roll last semester but this time it is not looking so well. 6th grade is hard. Jayden is in 1st grade and doing a dual language program so he is learning in both Spanish and English. He did this for kindergarten too. We like it but the homework is getting harder for this non Spanish speaking or reading momma!

I look forward to catching up with anyone who is still lurking around.

Walking Adventures

On Monday I was off work so Jayden and I went for a walk. Look what we found:

I just love old cemeteries and this one did not disappoint.

I was amazed to see a medal of honor awardee from the civil war!

I plan to go back soon to investigate more, the plaque at the front said 16 slaves are also buried there.

Jayden thought he found a secret passage.

Our beautiful flag.

After the burial ground we continued on to the park for a few hours of fun!
